Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) Education Lead
The post-holder will directly influence the WY PCWTH offers to the Primary Care workforce, playing an active and visible role creating, informing and shaping WY PCWTH clinical initiatives as a member of the West Yorkshire Leadership Team. The post-holder will provide high-quality clinical and educational leadership and support for the delivery of key training programmes. Working collaboratively with clinical educators, programme leads and operational teams to ensure that learners are well-supported, clinical standards are maintained, and that training activities align with professional, regulatory and organisational objectives.

PURPOSE:
To provide strategic clinical and educational leadership within the WY PCWTH.
To support the advancement of the primary care workforce by identifying training needs, promoting primary care careers, and ensuring high-quality learning environments.
To design, develop, deliver and evaluate a range of educational and clinical initiatives for staff working primarily within general practice.
To ensure the embedding and sustainability of new and advanced clinical roles through structured training programmes that align with UK Government directives for primary care workforce expansion and modernisation.
To provide expert clinical leadership, maintaining clinical competence and modelling best practice.
To support the advancement of the NHSE Advancing Practice agenda locally and regionally.
About usTrust Primary Care Ltd (TPC) is a GP Federation in Bradford, West Yorkshire. TPC holds NHS contracts to deliver clinical primary care services and also the West Yorkshire Primary Care Workforce & Training Hub (WY PCWTH).
Job responsibilitiesDUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Clinical
You remain under the regulation of your professional body and must continue to comply with the relevant standards of proficiency; recognise and work within own competence and in accordance with the professional Code of Conduct of your original registered profession.
Maintain clinical competence through continued practice within general practice.
Education and Training
Demonstrate a clear understanding of the UK healthcare education and training system and of the legislative and administrative issues around education and training of the healthcare workforce.
Have knowledge of the structure and organisation of healthcare education and training, the roles and responsibilities of stakeholders and the mechanics for workforce planning.
Work with fellow WY PCWTH clinical and nurse leads to support and evaluate all schemes.
Promote workforce development with a specific focus on enhancing the recruitment of new, and the retention of current staff.
Communicate with individual practices & Primary Care Networks (PCNs) to provide support and promote the educational and training offers available to them.
Support the development and implementation of training programmes and schemes, including delivery of competency assessments and practice observation.
Facilitate induction and orientation for training programmes, and preceptorship programmes for nursing and other relevant roles, including the non-registered healthcare staff working within General Practice and PCNs.
Responsible for the development and maintenance of a repository of learning materials and resources tailored to the training needs of clinical staff in Primary Care.
Provide constructive feedback and assessments in line with programme frameworks and standards.
Deliver clinical supervision and training to learners, including online virtual teaching and live clinical settings.
Engage with universities and other training organisations to foster educational collaboration and growth.
Research
Proactively lead, participate in, or facilitate research projects as required by the WY PCWTH.
Promote evidence-based practice through dissemination of best practice research findings and engagement with quality improvement projects.
Leadership
Develop the relationship and engagement with local and regional teams to support the quality of the primary care workforce and workforce planning.
Act as an ambassador for education and workforce development within WY and across the wider Yorkshire & Humber and national systems.
Lead and promote the NHSE Advancing Practice agenda locally.
Drive the integration and sustainability of advanced practice roles in primary care.
Oversight of the ACP scheme locally, keeping up to date with developments in the Faculty of Advancing Practice, general practices, HEIs and regional programme leads.
Advisory as needed for employment confirmation for e-portfolio route advanced practice applications.
Professional Support and Supervision
Demonstrate a strong commitment to making general practice the best place to work and train.
Act as a clinical role model, demonstrating clinical leadership through high standards of practice and professional behaviour.
