Milk Education is recruiting an experienced and adaptable SEND Teacher to join an established secondary special school in Bradford that serves pupils aged 11–19 with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and complex learning needs. The school is part of a multi-academy trust and offers a broad, balanced and literacy-rich curriculum tailored to individual needs.
This is an exciting opportunity for a specialist SEND practitioner with secondary experience who is passionate about helping young people access a personalised curriculum and make progress towards meaningful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, prepare and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons across the secondary curriculum that meet the needs of pupils with a wide range of SEND.
Support students’ academic, social, emotional, and communication development in line with individual needs and EHCP outcomes.
Create a safe, inclusive and respectful learning environment that enables all pupils to thrive.
Implement positive behaviour strategies effectively and consistently.
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, SENCo and the wider staff team to support holistic learning.
Contribute to assessment, review meetings and planning to continually improve personalised provision.
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Proven experience teaching pupils with SEND in a secondary or special school context.
Ability to plan and deliver a differentiated curriculum across multiple subject areas.
Strong classroom and behaviour management skills adapted to learners with complex needs.
Confident communicator and effective collaborative team member.
Flexible, resilient and student-centred in your teaching approach.
