We are currently recruiting for Quantity Surveyor to join our team, delivering exceptional customer service and innovative operational solutions across Yorkshire.
Aboutкости the roleWe are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor in tini Commercial department who can support Commercial best practice to maximise value and minimise risk and cost for both Lanes Group Ltd and our customers. Your role will involve accurately valuing works, managing change control processes, maintaining client relationships at contract level, and providing records to substantiate cost.

Responsibilities – but not limited to- Review Commercial processes to ensure they stay relevant and make recommendations for necessary changes.
- Apply contractual knowledge to communicate with relevant parties and ensure understanding of terms of project/contract.
- Work efficiently and calmly to tight deadlines or other stress factors as they arise.
- Ensure maximum recovery of all contractual entitlements.
- Use performance data to identify opportunities and implement commercial processes to realise contractual entitlements and opportunities.
- Supportخي Operational team on daily commercial and contractual aspects.
- Ensure proper contractual administration of contract/project, including value and cost control, and maintenance of contemporaneous records.
- Accurately value works undertaken and provide records to上市 substantiate cost to allow prompt issue of Application for payment/invoice.
- Manage change control process effectively, including production of Early Warnings/Variations, maximising entitlement.
- Prepare financial statements for projects/contracts, working with operational teams to confirm understanding of financial position and instilling commercial awareness throughout the wider business.
- Support development of individuals within the commercial team.
- Accept extra duties as situations arise.
- Manage Subcontract Accounts.
- Be able to travel and spend occasional nights away.
- HNC in Quantity Surveying or similar.
- Undergraduate degree in Quantity Surveying or similar advantageous.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in utilities or civil industry desirable.
- Experience in QS role.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen.
- Strong knowledge of contracts.
- Strong desire to maintain client relationships whilst not compromising contractual entitlement.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
