Marie Curie is seeking qualified counselling and bereavement professionals to volunteer their expertise in supporting children and young people navigating the emotional landscape of terminal illness and bereavement. This is an opportunity to apply your therapeutic skills in a deeply meaningful setting - helping young individuals process grief, explore emotions, and build resilience during life-altering moments.

  • Follow hospice record-keeping protocols
What you could bring:
  • A nurturing presence that creates safe spaces where emotions are shared and understood
  • Collaborative spirit, working closely with our Children's Bereavement Services team to ensure families feel consistently supported

  • Team-focused mindset, assisting Patient and Family Support staff when needed
  • Respect for safety, upholding the essential practices of safeguarding and ethical standards
Why you’d be a great fit:
  • You’d bring insight and empathy, understanding grief and the effects of anticipatory loss.
  • Your therapeutic training gives you a great foundation to support emotional wellbeing
  • You have real experience with young people, and the composition to meet them where they are
  • You flourish in collaborative environments with deep respect for safeguarding and ethical practice
  • You recognise unique emotions and approach them with sensitivity
  • You're ready to embrace training and development so you can continue making a difference
What You’ll Gain
  • A rewarding opportunity to support young people through difficult times
  • Induction, ongoing training, and supportive supervision
  • Reimbursement of agreed out-of-pocket expenses
