Job Title: GP Practice Receptionist

We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and well-organised Receptionist to join our GP practice team. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing a welcoming, efficient, and confidential service. Previous experience in a GP practice or healthcare setting is desirable.

• Greet patients in a professional and courteous manner, in person and over the telephone
• Book, cancel, and manage appointments using the clinical system
• Handle patient enquiries and requests sensitively and confidentially
• Register new patients and update patient records accurately
• Process repeat prescription requests in line with practice procedures
• Liaise with clinicians, practice staff, and external services as required
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised reception area
• Follow practice policies, including confidentiality and data protection

• Previous experience as a GP receptionist or in a healthcare setting (preferred)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong IT skills and confidence using computer systems
• Ability to work well under pressure in a busy environment
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail
• A professional, calm, and empathetic approach to patient care
