Position: Steps Coordinator

Job Overview: Responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the STEPS Drop-in Center Program serving individuals who possess a behavioral health diagnosis.

The role of the coordinator is to provide support to elected officers and members and safeguard implementation of the Program Framework. This position will implement service delivery in accordance with policies and procedures as well as support the mission, vision, and values of the Guidance Center.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Plan, coordinate, andfacilitatemonthly program activities
  • Develop and distribute monthly calendars of events, officers’ schedules, newsletters, and meeting agendas and minutes
  • Monitor and support implementation of the STEPS Holistic Program Framework
  • Oversee coordination of meals, food services, and clean-up crews
  • Arrange for program supplies and food purchases
  • Coordinate andparticipatein local Community Support Program (CSP) meetings
  • Review invoices for payment andassistwith data collection for fiscal and program reports
  • Plan, organize, and support fundraising activities
  • Prepare and manage activity and food budgets
  • Draft and coordinate press releases and public communications related to program activities
  • Collaborate with and consult the STEPS Board of Directors
  • Maintain positive public relations and coordinate with community partners and service agencies

Education and Experience:

  • A high school diploma, with higher education preferred.
  • Experience working with individuals with Behavioral Health concerns strongly preferred
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with program members, staff, volunteers, and community partners
  • Knowledge of community-based mental health services and recovery-oriented programs
  • Proficiency in basic office software
