Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages – Temporary Maternity Cover

Start:
April 2026 – the post will cease when the permanent holder returns to duty or the position becomes vacant.

Closing date: 9am Thursday 22nd January 2026 – interview w/c 26th January 2026.

Modern Foreign Languages is a cohesive team of eight members (full‑ and part‑time). The Head of Department is supported by one TLR post‑holder. • Teach French and German to Key St 3 and Key St 4 pupils, applying the latest curriculum and assessment standards.
• Plan, deliver and assess lessons that encourage the development of language skills and cultural awareness.
• Collaborate with department colleagues to design cross‑curricular activities and share best practice.
• Engage with pupils’ parents and the wider school community to promote the importance of language learning.
• Maintain accurate teaching records and contribute to staff development plans.

• Qualified teacher or trainee teacher with a strong background in French and German.
• Experience teaching Key St 3 and Key St 4 is highly desirable.
• Evidence of commitment to continuous professional development.
• Excellent communication skills and a inclusive, supportive attitude.
