Job SummaryThe Skilled Laborer supports skilled craft personnel by assisting with essential construction tasks required to successfully complete projects. This role involves the safe operation of hand tools and power tools, and performing rigging duties for crane and forklift operations. It also includes deck hand responsibilities such as working on or near water, tying off dock lines, and operating small vessels, including crew boats.
Candidates should understand tool use, follow safety procedures, and preferably have experience with rigging or marine operations.

- High school or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Experience and proficiency with standard laborer tools (e.g., sledgehammers, shovels, brooms, vacuums, pressure washers, and general hand tools)
- Boat operation and barge experience preferred
- Carpentry skills preferred
- Prior general/skilled labor experience is a plus
- Concrete experience preferred
- Experience rigging for cranes and forklifts
- Honest, trustworthy, dependable

- Ability to work diligently under time constraints and adapt to change

- Operate and care for construction equipment and machines
- Prepare sites by clearing obstacles and hazards
- Load/unload or identify building materials, machinery, and tools per project plans
- Measure and mark openings or distances for layout
- Dig ditches or trenches; backfill, compact, and grade according to specifications
- Mix, pour, or spread concrete using portable mixers
- Tend pumps, compressors, or generators to provide power or materials handling
- Erect or dismantle scaffolding, shoring, barricades, or temporary structures
- Sweep and clean the project site; transport materials to carpenters when needed
- Assist carpenters, welders, and other craft workers as required
- Work with cranes and rigging; act as signal person for equipment operators
- Chop, paint, clean, and wash equipment on-site; secure the work area
- Load/unload materials from deck barges and other equipment
- Performs other duties as required
- Work is performed in the field in all-weather conditions
- Physical activity including climbing, lifting (up to 75 pounds), and handling materials
- Ability to tolerate vibrations, heat, and high noise levels
- Able to safely operate around heavy equipment/large machinery in marine dredging and construction environments
- Capability to wear PPE as required (hard hats, safety glasses, PFDs, respirators, etc.)
- $20-$30 per hour
- Pay is commensurate with experience
