Industrial Control Technician - Lift Stations

Work Location: 4530 66th Street West, Bradenton, Florida 34210

Work Hours: 7:00am - 3:30pm, Monday - Friday

Expected Starting Hourly Range: $27.61 - $34.51

Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance, modification, repair, testing, and installation of electrical fixtures and equipment in three‑phase industrial plants, including wiring, lighting, machinery, power appliances, overhead circuits, motors, relays, switches, and control boxes.
  • Configure and troubleshoot motor control centers, applying knowledge of high‑voltage and low‑voltage systems.
  • Analyze telemetry and maintenance management system reports to diagnose and remedy electrical failures.
  • Maintain, repair, adjust, and install motors, generators, automatic power transfer switches, variable frequency drives, radio telemetry systems, meters, timers, and control centers.
  • Calculate line leads for proper wire and equipment sizing; prepare sketches for electrical layouts.
  • Interpret and ensure compliance with electrical codes, obtaining safety permits and wire numbers as required.
  • Assist in training less‑tenured Industrial Control Technicians.
  • Perform related work, including weather or emergency duties, as required.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Four (4) or more years of experience as an Industrial (non‑residential) Electrician.
  • Valid South Florida driver license within 30 days of hire.
  • Ability to participate in a standby rotation schedule and respond to emergencies.
  • Previous experience in troubleshooting industrial motor controls (highly desired).
  • Journeyman License preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency with tools, equipment, and testing devices for high‑voltage electrical work.
  • Knowledge of specialized testing equipment, high‑voltage safety gear, and process sensing equipment.
  • Experience with radio telemetry systems interfacing with electro‑mechanical controls.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical control schematics, blueprints, single‑line drawings, and basic electronic schematics.
  • Strong understanding of National Electrical Codes (NEC) and regulatory compliance.
  • Computer literacy and effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capability to explain facts, policies, and procedures clearly.
