Short description of the project:
The intern will support the Concurrency and Compliance and Transportation Planning sections by reviewing and refining roadway segment data within the Capacity Reservation System. The project focuses on dividing large thoroughfare roadways into smaller, clearly defined segments using established technical criteria. This work will improve the precision of trip distribution analysis for development-based projects and strengthen downstream reporting and Capital Improvement Program planning.
The intern will evaluate assigned roadway records, execute approved segment splits or additions, and ensure all related data elements are accurately maintained within the system. Associated trips and roadway improvements must be updated to preserve data integrity and analytical reliability. All modifications will be documented in a standardized tracking log to ensure transparency and auditability. By improving the alignment of development generated trips with both new and existing roadways, the project will enhance infrastructure planning and support data driven decision making for County transportation investments.
