We are seeking an experienced baker with at least one year of previous experience in a bakery. The Baker / Pastry Chef is responsible for preparing high‑quality baked goods and desserts that meet the nutritional needs, dietary requirements, and preferences of senior residents. This role supports a warm, hospitality‑focused dining experience while adhering to food safety standards, health regulations, and senior‑living best practices.

• Prepare fresh breads, rolls, pastries, cakes, cookies, pies, and desserts daily
• Execute recipes consistently while maintaining high standards of quality, flavor, and presentation
• Prepare baked items for regular meals, special events, holidays, and resident celebrations
• Modify recipes as needed for special diets (e.g., diabetic‑friendly, low‑sodium, gluten‑free, texture‑modified, pureed)

• Collaborate with the Executive Chef and culinary team on menus and seasonal offerings
• Participate in menu tastings and resident feedback sessions
• Assist with special‑theme meals and community events

• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection control guidelines (Serv Safe, local health codes)
• Ensure proper labeling, storage, rotation, and temperature control of all baked goods
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area

• Assist with ordering, receiving, and inventory of baking ingredients and supplies
• Minimize food waste through proper planning and portion control

• Demonstrate a resident‑first approach with patience, respect, and professionalism
• Occasionally interact with residents during special events or demonstrations
• Support the community’s mission of enhancing quality of life through dining
• Attends in‑service training and education sessions, as assigned
• Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor

• High school graduate required.
• Pastry Arts diploma or equivalent education preferred, but not required.
• Minimum 1‑3 Years’ Experience In a Bakery Setting Required.
• Ability to communicate with, understand, empathize with, work with, and be tolerant of residents, patients, families, visitors, peers, supervisors, subordinates, and other outside contacts.
