Admin Asst/Food Service Worker
OverviewThe Admin Assistant/Food Service Worker position is cross-utilized to perform administrative tasks in addition to Food Service Worker responsibilities and may float between roles based on department needs. Responsible for the delivery and service of patient meals, sanitation in the food service department including dish washing, cart washing, pots and pan washing and emptying trash. Follows strict sanitation guidelines set up by the State of Florida Health Department.
Always demonstrates Service Excellence. Other duties as assigned.
- Ability to meet and successfully interact with a variety of personalities to maintain office productivity
- Uses telephones, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer, fax, printer, copier, and other office equipment as needed
- Skilled in administrative assistant functions and tasks, i.e. prioritizing activities/tasks, arranging meetings, lunches, scheduling conference calls, taking minutes at meetings
- Ability to setup and execute Excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing
- Strong organizational skills required
- Ability to problem-solve to assure office runs smoothly
- Delivers food trays to patient rooms, and provides service to include pouring of beverages, removing plastic covering from food, and setting the food tray so that the patient can reach and eat the food
- Check patient trays before leaving the kitchen area to assure that all items ordered are on the tray
- Gather and deliver floor stock. Rotate stock when putting away in the refrigerator on the nurse unit. Discard any outdated products
- Washes dishes, pans, and utensils for patients, cafeteria and catering
- Sanitizes patient carts daily
- Empties trash in the food service area
- Assures that the Food Service Department meets the State, Medicare, The Joint Commission and other regulations
- Regularly attends and actively participates in department meetings
- Demonstrates commitment to Service Excellence
- Communication and interpersonal skills, basic computer skills, and customer service skills required
- Other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
