HCA Florida Blake Hospital is a 383 bed hospital located in Bradenton, FL. We are the only state-designated Level II trauma center in Manatee, Sarasota and DeSoto Counties, with a thirteen acre campus by the Gulf Coast beaches. What will you do in this role
  • Coordinating and delivering high quality, patient-centered care by the department’s requirements, in collaboration with medical providers.
  • Assessing patient condition during admission and each shift, identifying and reporting changes in status.
  • Administering prescribed medications, monitoring therapeutic response, and notifying the provider if adverse or unintended responses occur.
  • Conducting complete patient evaluations before procedures, including review of history, diagnostics, physical and psychological assessments; ensuring informed consent where applicable.
  • Engaging in evidence-based best practices to enhance the patient experience (e.g., SAFETY rounding, AIDET, Teach-Back, Narrating Care).
  • Demonstrating effective communication to ensure clear understanding among patients, families, physicians, and colleagues; escalating care concerns as needed.
Qualifications you will need
  • Must be licensed as a Florida Registered Nurse or have appropriate compact licensure; active FL RN license required within 90 days of hire if using a compact license.
  • Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.
  • Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification required.
  • ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire/transfer.
  • NIHSS certification required within 6 months of hire/transfer.
  • Critical thinking, service excellence, interpersonal communication skills; ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions; basic PC skills.
