Suncoast Behavioral Health Center opened its doors in 2014 and provides the highest quality of behavioral healthcare for patients in a safe, secure and nurturing environment. The facility offers intensive residential psychiatric services for adolescents, including behavioral, emotional and psychiatric interventions, built on trauma‑informed care principles with progressive phases of care.
ResponsibilitiesThe hospital is looking for a Chief Operating Officer who will direct the assigned departments at both Suncoast Behavioral Health Center and Palm Shores Behavioral Health Center and participate in the general management of the hospitals in close support of the Group CEO to achieve operating and clinical objectives in accordance with sound management principles, regulatory and accreditation standards, and the organization’s mission.
CoreResponsibilities
- Directs the activities and management of assigned departments to ensure each department fulfills its mission and business objectives.
- Participates in strategic business and financial planning and management, including capital operations budget preparation, forecasting, and monitoring.
- Develops productive working relationships in the health‑care community, including health‑care providers, regulatory and accreditation bodies, and medical/physician staff.
- Provides leadership for facility‑wide initiatives and programs such as CQI, risk management, loss control, and other task forces that impact multiple components of the organization.
- Serves as Administrator‑on‑call as required and may serve as interim CEO during extended absences.
- Participates in business development activities, programs, and initiatives.
- Performs general supervisory and managerial functions, including staffing, compensation and salary administration, performance assessment, staff development, employee discipline, and communication and relations.

- Bachelor’s degree required; master’s preferred in business or a clinical area with advanced knowledge of psychiatric and clinical care concepts and methodologies.
