Overview

St. Joseph Catholic School in Bradenton, Florida is seeking a full-time Custodian.

Job Responsibilities

Maintain cleanliness and order in assigned areas of the school, ensuring that all rooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas are clean and well-maintained.
Set up for events and meetings.
Secure all buildings on campus at the end of the day.
Perform daily checks of the buildings and grounds to ensure trash/debris is picked up from common areas and grounds ensuring the area is presentable and always inviting.
Setting out safety cones/markers for car lines, and assisting with student arrival and pick-up.
Adheres to proper cleaning methods, storage, and proper care of equipment and supplies following local, state, and OSHA regulations.
Uses and wears safety and/or protective equipment, as appropriate.
Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
Reports all accidents and/or potential hazards to the Maintenance Director immediately, or as soon as reasonably possible.
Attends in-service training to develop and improve knowledge and skills of cleaning service work.
Complies with and supports school regulations and policies.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Administration in accordance with school policies.

High School diploma or equivalent.
Previous work experience as a custodian, or janitor.
An understanding of cleaning equipment and how to maintain them.
Understanding safety protocols and disposal of hazardous waste items.
Ability to lift approximately 50lbs.without assistance.
Ability to stand, bend, twist, stoop, push, pull, climb continuously.
Valid drivers license.
Occasional Weekend hours will also be set in advance for specific events, as needed.
Must pass a DOV assigned post offer physical exam.
