Mental Health Technician - Weekend Evenings

Responsibilities

Suncoast Behavioral Health Center provides mental health care to adolescents ages 11–17. The Mental Health Technician (MHT) performs direct patient care duties in a residential setting, supervising patients during treatment, recreation, and educational activities. MHTs ensure patient safety, apply least restrictive interventions, and avoid seclusion and restraint whenever possible.

• Sign on bonus $1,200
• Starting at $17.50 per hour, pay based on education and experience
• Schedule Friday–Monday 3:00 PM–11:30 PM

Job Requirements:

• High school graduate or GED required.
• Preferred:
  Bachelor’s Degree in psychology or related field.
• Preferred:
  Six months of experience in residential psychiatry or comparable facility.
• Must pass Level 2 background screening and pre-employment drug test.

• Maintain therapeutic distance and boundaries.
• Read, understand, and follow policies, procedures, and written treatment plans.

• Successful completion of CPR certification and Handle with Care prior to assisting with restraining procedures within 7 days of employment.
• Communicate verbally and in writing.

• Intermittent sitting, standing, walking, bending, and stooping.
