Responsibilities
Suncoast Behavioral Health Center provides mental health care to adolescents ages 11–17. The Mental Health Technician (MHT) performs direct patient care duties in a residential setting, supervising patients during treatment, recreation, and educational activities. MHTs ensure patient safety, apply least restrictive interventions, and avoid seclusion and restraint whenever possible.

- Starting at $17.50 per hour, pay based on education and experience
- Schedule Friday–Monday 3:00 PM–11:30 PM
- Shift differentials offered

Job Requirements:
- High school graduate or GED required.
- Preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree in psychology or related field. - Preferred:
Six months of experience in residential psychiatry or comparable facility. - Must pass Level 2 background screening and pre-employment drug test.
Additional Requirements:
- Maintain therapeutic distance and boundaries.
- Read, understand, and follow policies, procedures, and written treatment plans.

- May be required to work occasional overtime and flexible hours.
- Successful completion of CPR certification and Handle with Care prior to assisting with restraining procedures within 7 days of employment.
- Communicate verbally and in writing.
- Physical agility: push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Intermittent sitting, standing, walking, bending, and stooping.
