Position: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

About this position

The Certified Nursing Assistant delivers direct care to residents and patients in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations and life care standards in the health and rehabilitation center (skilled nursing home). CNAs assist residents with activities of daily living, personal hygiene and mobility, prioritizing their wellbeing and ensuring they maintain dignity and independence.

Responsibilities
  • Caring for the personal needs, safety, and comfort of residents.
  • Assisting residents with activities of daily living (wardrobe, personal hygiene, and mobility).
  • Aiding in daily tasks such as telephone use, laundry, transportation, and mail delivery.
  • Light housekeeping tasks and meal preparation.
  • Medication reminders.
  • Observing and reporting changes in residents' condition and status.
  • Conducting rounds to monitor for hazards or incidents.
  • Assisting in dining including escorting to dining room, serving, and cleanup.
  • Providing companionship and conversation.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Completion of a state‑approved CNA certification course.
  • Ability to read and communicate at an adequate level for essential job duties.
  • Ability to treat and care for seniors and their property with dignity and respect.
  • Friendly and congenial communication with clients.
  • Completion of new hire orientation.
