Director of Medical Staff Credentialing
Lakewood Ranch Medical Center is seeking a Director of Medical Staff Credentialing to manage and direct all aspects of medical staff services and credentialing for 700+ staff members.
Full time.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm.

- Establishes policies and procedures for the department.
- Conducts the verification process for all contracted physicians, practitioners and nurses including an initial review of verifications.
- Ensures practices and procedures are accurate and up-to-date with industry trends and current credentialing standards.
- May complete state medical license applications for physicians, and perform follow-up with state medical licensure boards on status of license applications.
- Initiates the process for ensuring malpractice coverage for all contracted providers.
- Provides leadership to managers; may also provide leadership to supervisors and/or professional staff.
- Has accountability for the performance and results of multiple related units.
- Develops departmental plans, including business, production, operational and/or organizational priorities.
- Controls resources and policy formation in area of responsibility.
- Decisions are guided by resource availability and functional objectives.
- Looks beyond existing methodologies and own discipline to define and resolve complex problems.
- Provides input to functional or departmental strategy.
- Manages large, potentially diverse teams of managers and/or senior professionals.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with good negotiation tactics.
- Ability to create and implement sourcing strategies for recruitment for a variety of roles.
- Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Minimum of 5 years of Medical Staff Service experience required.
- Bachelors degree preferred, or 10+ years of relevant experience may be considered.
- CPMSM Certification or actively pursuing certification through NAMSS.
- Understanding of credentialing and re-credentialing functions, The Joint Commission, State and Federal Regulatory Requirements, and overall knowledge of an organized Medical Staff.
- Knowledge of credentialing software database, preferably MD-Staff.
