Job Overview

The MVP (Most Valuable Players) Lead oversees all aspects of IMG Academy’s MVP Camp Program for campers ages 10–12. This position is responsible for creating an age‑appropriate and engaging camp experience that promotes growth, independence, and fun while maintaining IMG’s standards for safety, structure, and excellence. The MVP Manager will lead a team of mentors and program staff, manage daily operations, coordinate age‑specific programming, and serve as the primary point of contact for MVP campers and their families.

This role reports directly to the Student Life Head of Camp.

Key Responsibilities Leadership & Oversight
  • Provide daily supervision and leadership of the MVP program.
  • Oversee the MVP dorm community and ensure consistent supervision, structure, and safety.
  • Supervise MVP staff and manage scheduling, mentorship, and coverage needs.
  • Uphold IMG Academy’s values, policies, and behavioral expectations across all MVP operations.
Program Development & Coordination
  • Design, plan, and execute age‑specific programming and activities tailored to 10–12‑year‑old campers.
  • Coordinate with Student Engagement, Sports Directors, and Housing to integrate athletic, educational, and recreational experiences.
  • Oversee the operation of MVP common spaces and designated hangout areas.
  • Assist with planning off‑campus trips, special events, and on‑campus experiences unique to the MVP age group.
Camper Experience & Family Engagement
  • Build a supportive and structured environment for MVP campers that encourages independence and belonging.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding camper progress, concerns, and updates.
  • Oversee daily MVP checkpoint attendance, curfews, and safety check‑ins.
  • Lead the MVP check‑in and check‑out processes to ensure a smooth experience for families.
Staff Development & Supervision
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and ongoing professional development opportunities.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and high‑performing staff culture.
Safety, Accountability & Incident Management
  • Serve as the first point of contact for MVP camper issues, incidents, or behavioral concerns.
  • Collaborate with Campus Safety, Health Services, and Student Life to ensure the highest safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents, attendance, and staff performance.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Recreation, Child Development, or related field required (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience working in youth programming, residential life, or summer camp leadership.
  • Experience managing or working with pre‑teens (ages 10–12) strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience supervising and developing staff teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to engage, motivate, and support young campers in a fun and structured way.
  • Skilled in conflict resolution, team building, and program coordination.
  • High emotional intelligence and ability to connect with campers and families.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and camp management platforms.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Requires evening, weekend, and extended hours during camp season.
  • Must be visible and active within the MVP dorm and programming spaces.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced residential environment with both indoor and outdoor activities.
  • Requires a background check upon offer.
  • Requires a drug test upon offer.
