Motor Grader Operator

Harris-McBurney Company is looking for experienced Motor Grader Operators for site prep/utility placement projects in the Bradenton area.

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

* Ability to spread and level dirt, gravel, and stone, to grade specifications in construction and maintenance of earthwork structures, such as highways, streets, culverts, dikes, and temporary roads.

* Read plans for job completion; grades to dimensions as specified by construction drawings, sketches, grade markers, and/or verbal instructions.

* Grade land to specified slope to achieve proper drainage.

* Perform rough and finish grade work to close specification control; moves levers aligns machine and reads depth gauge to regulate height and angle of blades to maintain grade.

* Grade precisely spreading and mixing materials in order to prepare roadways, pads and other surfaces to precise grade, observing reference stakes, hand signals or GPS data, as required by project specifications.

* Use instruments such as lasers and grade rods.

* Observe ground markings to protect underground structures and utilities.

* Have at least five (5) years as Heavy Equipment Operator / Motor Grader Operator

* Have a valid drivers license, preferably a CDL

* Pass pre-employment screenings including drug screen, criminal background, and I-9 verification
