Grant Accountant

Base pay range

$28.00/hr - $32.00/hr

Our client is looking for a Grant Accountant to join their team! This position is set to be 3+ month long contract.

• Manage the full accounting lifecycle for government grants, from setup through closeout
• Ensure compliance with grant agreements, regulations, and applicable federal, state, and local guidelines
• Prepare, review, and submit grant‑related financial reports, reimbursement requests, and drawdowns
• Track grant budgets, monitor expenditures, and ensure costs are allowable, allocable, and reasonable
• Reconcile grant accounts and maintain accurate supporting documentation
• Collaborate with program managers to provide financial guidance and budget monitoring
• Support internal and external audits related to grant funding
• Assist with developing and improving grant accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls

• Experience with federal, state, and/or local government funding
• Background in nonprofit, education, healthcare, or public sector organizations
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Strong knowledge of government grant compliance requirements
• Experience preparing grant financial reports and managing reimbursements
• Proficiency with accounting systems and Excel; experience with grant management systems a plus
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines
