About Us

Stirrups Hotel is a beautiful, family‑run 46‑bedroom hotel set in 10 acres of countryside between Bracknell and Windsor. With an award‑winning restaurant, stylish bar, and a busy calendar of weddings and events, we pride ourselves on delivering warm hospitality and quality cuisine in a relaxed, welcoming environment.

We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Sous Chef to join our growing kitchen team and support the Head Chef in delivering exceptional food for our restaurant, functions, and weddings.

As we are family run and owned business, we understand importance of a work‑life balance so all our contracts are for 40 hrs/week and if there is any overtime, this is paid in full at your hourly rate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Head Chef in the daily running of the kitchen, ensuring consistently high standards of food quality and presentation
  • Able to look ahead at business and order effectively and understand the financials.
  • Lead by example in preparing dishes using fresh, locally sourced ingredients
  • Supervise and mentor junior chefs, ensuring training and development within the team
  • Ensure all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards are upheld (HACCP compliant)
  • Assist with stock control, ordering, and maintaining cost‑effective practices
  • Contribute to menu development with creative input and seasonal ideas
  • Take charge of the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence
About You
  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef or Junior Sous Chef in a high‑quality kitchen environment
  • Strong culinary skills and passion for using fresh, seasonal produce
  • A team player with great leadership and communication abilities.
  • A calm and organised approach in a busy kitchen setting
  • Flexible with working hours – evenings, weekends, and event dates required
  • Knowledge of allergen control and catering for dietary requirements
  • Level 2 or 3 Food Safety certification (preferred)
