Chemical Technician Bracknell | £26,000 – £32,000 | Full-time | On-site We're hiring for a Chemical Technician to join a leading research and development team in Bracknell, where you'll run industry-recognised oxidation tests and support innovative lubricant and fuel projects. About the Role In this lab-based role, you’ll be responsible for conducting a range of standardised tests used across the fuel and lubricants sector, contributing directly to R&D projects. You'll interpret test data, maintain lab equipment, and ensure safe, clean lab practices are followed. Key Responsibilities Perform standard oxidation and corrosion testing, including:
Rust testing (ASTM D665) Rotating Pressure Vessel Oxidation Test – RPVOT (ASTM D2272 / IP229) Total Acid Number – TAN (ASTM D3339) Carry out additional testing such as:
Hydraulic Stability (ASTM D2070) CMA and MAN testing, as required Record, analyse and report test results in line with project timelines Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment Collaborate with internal teams and support customer-focused research Uphold health, safety and ISO quality standards within the lab What We’re Looking For Ideally hold a degree in Chemistry or a closely related scientific field Experience or interest in oxidation testing, ideally within automotive, fuels or lubricant sectors (preferred but not essential) Strong time management and organisational skills Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow precise procedures A team player with good communication skills and a collaborative mindset Salary & Benefits Salary: £26,000 – £32,000 (depending on experience)
