Temporary Teacher of English - Full-Time

We are seeking a passionate and committed Teacher of English for a temporary full-time role at a well-regarded secondary school in Berkshire. This is an excellent opportunity for an English specialist who enjoys inspiring young people and delivering high-quality teaching across the ability range.

• Teach English across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 experience desirable but not essential)
• Deliver engaging, well-planned lessons rooted in a strong love of literature and language
• Support students to become confident readers, writers and communicators
• Use assessment effectively to monitor progress and raise attainment
• Maintain high standards of behaviour, engagement and home learning
• Work collaboratively within a supportive and established English department
• Contribute to whole-school priorities around achievement and personal development

• Inclusive, non-selective secondary setting with a strong community ethos
• English curriculum designed to foster empathy, ambition and a lifelong love of learning
• Supportive leadership and a collaborative staff culture
• Clear policies and systems in place to support teaching and learning

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or is working towards it
• Has a relevant degree in English or a related subject
• Experience teaching English in a UK secondary school
• Strong classroom management and organisational skills
• Enthusiastic, reflective and committed to safeguarding and student wellbeing

• Competitive daily rate: £175 - £240, depending on experience
