About the Role

We are seeking a committed and skilled Children’s Social Worker to join our Children’s Services team. To succeed in this role, you will have an in-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, statutory guidance, policies, and thresholds, alongside strong experience of multi-agency working and partnership-based practice.

You will work collaboratively with children, young people, and their families to co-produce needs-led, child-focused safety plans. You will demonstrate excellent recording skills and the ability to produce high-quality assessments, reports, and court statements.

You will role model and champion good social work practice, evidence relevant continued professional development (CPD), and contribute positively to our inclusive team culture, supporting others through shared learning and experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload across Child in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), Care Proceedings, and Children Looked After (CLA)
  • Develop and implement effective safeguarding plans to protect children and young people
  • Complete needs-led, child-focused assessments with outcome-focused plans
  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies and professionals
  • Act as the allocated Social Worker for duty cases, including Section 17 assessments and Section 47 investigations
  • Participate in the duty system responding to child protection concerns
  • Prioritise workload to meet statutory timescales and deadlines
  • Maintain accurate and timely case records, ensuring compliance with GDPR and council procedures
  • Engage in regular reflective supervision, setting clear goals and intervention strategies
