The OpportunityWe are seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Senior Service Technician. This position requires an advanced skill level with performing electrical and mechanical inspections, start‑up maintenance on the equipment we sell, repairs, and service contract maintenance. This is a full‑time opportunity for an energetic go‑getter. An ideal candidate will be customer service oriented and work well with others. The position requires a high level of correspondence with Project Managers, Service Coordinators and customers.
Responsibilities- Provide high‑quality preventative maintenance for customers under contract with S. Conley Service
- Diagnose and repair HVAC equipment
- Perform basic HVAC maintenance including filter changes, coil cleaning and chiller tube brushing
- Determine necessary parts and materials independently to complete projects
- Understand basic refrigeration and electrical
- Use digital multimeters, refrigerant gauges etc. for troubleshooting all types of HVAC equipment
- Operate refrigerant handling/recovery equipment
- Operate torch and braze refrigerant piping/components
- Accurately report detailed information to Supervisor
- Travel for service and manufacturer training
- Advise owner/representative of preventive maintenance inspections performed and corrective actions to be taken
- Suggest additional services that are beneficial to customer
- Work in a team‑based environment to share information and workload while ensuring customer satisfaction
- Submit required paperwork to Service Coordinator in a timely manner
- Work safely and ensure all safety measures are taken at all times
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 5 to 15 years of experience as a Service Technician in a commercial HVAC environment
- Valid driver’s license, good driving record, minimum 25 years of age for insurance purposes
- Current HVAC certification and OSHA 10 Training
- Operating knowledge of Microsoft 365 and proficiency with handheld computer (i.e. Smartphone, iPad)
- Advanced skill level performing electrical inspections, startups, repairs and service contract maintenance
- Experience with multiple manufacturer software systems (e.g. ABB, Wattmaster, MCS, Trane, Carrier, JCI)
- Ability to work in diverse conditions including mechanical equipment rooms, exposure to noisy equipment, extreme weather, risk of electrical shock (high voltage), climbing/working at elevated heights
- Lift up to 50 lbs, frequently lift up to 75 lbs, climb, crawl, stoop, kneel as required
- Work independently with minimal supervision and balance multiple varied duties
- Travel for out‑of‑town projects and training
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Mental stamina for problem solving and prioritizing multiple tasks.
