Brief Position Overview
Liaising regularly with government partners at Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) Fort Sam Houston, the Mil Tech Medical Safety Engineer will support execution and delivery on projects with U.S. Army Medical Test and Evaluation Activity (MTEAC) at U.S. Army Medical Center of Excellence (MEDCoE), providing in-person engagement, specialized knowledge, and medical safety expertise.

- Provide information to DoD Program Managers for USAMMDA, Department of Defense Capability Developers (CAPDEV), Materiel Developers (MATDEV), and other acquisition-related organizations to address safety issues during planning and execution that involve collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Assist in the development and drafting of documents to include vendor equipment scope, characteristics, data, user and technical manuals, and Safety Assessment Reports (SAR) to assist in the identification of hazards to help USAMMDA eliminate/reduce risk levels to the lowest practical levels.
- Assist in identification and engagement of SMEs where needed to develop comprehensive Test and Evaluation Master Plans (TEMPs) or similar documentation to inform safety considerations for USAMMDA to integrate throughout planning processes and test execution activities.
- Follow State of Montana and Federal guidelines for the procurement of goods and services in support of project execution.
- Engage with USAMMDA and MTEAC as needed to assist in drafting identified hazards and potential mitigation actions in safety releases before each assigned event.
- Engage with USAMMDA and MTEAC as needed to assist in developing and drafting safety confirmation documents utilizing vendor equipment technical data, safety release, and SAR to support acquisition milestones and materiel release for Army Acquisition Program, as well as effective safety measures for each assigned event and materiel release decision.
- Facilitate execution of USAMMDA and MTEAC quality control assessments during events.
- Engage with MTEAC and USAMMDA as needed to draft safety release documents for all assigned events, as well as safety confirmation documents that support acquisition milestones and materiel release decisions for Army Acquisition Programs.
- Comply at all times with the MSU/Mil Tech Confidentiality Agreement governing non-disclosure of information encountered in the course of your duties, and the MSU/Mil Tech Technology Control Plan governing security and work controls.
- Demonstrated extensive experience providing medical safety expertise, working collaboratively across a variety of highly technical DOD and other federal government efforts.
- Demonstrated experience working with government partners on Mil Tech technical projects, including familiarity with MSU/Mil Tech technical resources, tools, and processes.
- Demonstrated experience working with MTEAC test and safety regulatory processes and requirements.
- Demonstrated experience developing and drafting safety confirmation documents to support acquisition milestones and materiel release for Army Acquisition Program, as well as effective safety measures for each assigned event and materiel release decision.
- Active, or previously held, security clearance.
- Represent Mil Tech in a professional manner when interacting with all stakeholders and personnel.
