Experts of store process and efficiency who enable a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring product is set, in-stock, accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. The General Merchandise and Food Sales team leads inbound, outbound, replenishment, and promotional signing processes for all General Merchandise (GM) areas of the store.

As a General Merchandise Expert, you will have the opportunity to gain knowledge of guest service fundamentals and experience supporting a guest first culture across the store. You will also gain experience in retail business fundamentals including: department sales trends, inventory replenishment, and process efficiency and improvement.

Responsibilities include:

• Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you are completing your daily tasks.
• Engage with guests in a welcoming way to help solve their specific needs.
• Thank guests and let them know we’re happy they chose to shop at Target.
• Execute daily tasks assigned to you by your leader to help achieve goals that align with business priorities including receiving products, restocking shelves, organizing the backroom, arranging merchandise, and putting up promotional signs for GM areas.
• Operate power equipment to move merchandise or store fixtures (if certified).
• Execute processes including changing prices to products, merchandise set-up and maintenance, and inventory accuracy as directed by your leader for all areas.
• Learn how operational procedures affect inventory management, store profitability, and product availability.
• Be knowledgeable about the resources, products, and services available in the total store, and specific to your area, to solve issues for the guest and improve their experience.
• Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance.
• Work in a safe manner at all times and comply with all safety policies, best practices, and training.

We are looking for team members who have a welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members, ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed, and ability to work both independently and with a team.
