Building Maintenance, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
About The Role
Under general supervision of the Facilities Manager and in conformance with established policies and procedures, Facilities Tech I is responsible for maintenance repairs of bank properties and equipment, and related functions.
Responsibilities- Provide prompt and courteous service to all internal and external customers, supporting the goals and mission of the bank.
- On a regular rotating schedule, conduct visual structural damage and security checks for the main bank, replace security signs for employees by 7 am when safe, and report all problems to the manager, President, or Security Officer.
- Clean sidewalks, parking lots and grounds year‑round in all weather conditions, including snow removal on Main Bank properties using a plow, shovel, or snow blower; mow and trim grass, maintain irrigation system, and perform other landscaping duties.
- Monitor customer and rental parking lots and sidewalks for parking violations and skateboarding/rollerblading, issue warning tickets to violators, and contact police when necessary; report problems or unusual occurrences to supervisor.
- Greet customers as they enter and leave the bank.
- Complete and track city parking violations.
- Assist armored security personnel in accessing the building for deliveries.
- Monitor freight and package deliveries and notify appropriate departments when items are delivered.
- Perform safety checks of boiler and air handler systems as scheduled, including weekends and holidays, to ensure proper operation.
- Monitor and maintain equipment to ensure proper operation and report problems.
- Stay current with maintenance computer programs, including HVAC Metasys, lighting programs, and fire suppression system.
- Perform maintenance duties such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work.
- Become familiar with and periodically review the bank’s robbery recovery procedures.
- Occasionally design and build structural bank equipment (e.g., carts, bulletin boards).
- Move and arrange desks, furniture, and partitions as needed.
- Perform additional tasks and projects assigned by the manager.
- Provide backup in ordering janitorial, kitchen, and maintenance supplies.
- Assist branch locations as time allows.
- Maintain regular attendance and provide in‑person contact with customers.

- High school diploma or equivalency.
- Two or more years of maintenance experience, preferably in a large commercial building environment.
- Knowledge of and experience in all areas of maintenance, including painting, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work.
- Valid driver’s license with a driving record acceptable to insurer.
- Demonstrated computer skills to troubleshoot maintenance issues, communicate, and keep records (Microsoft Word, Excel).
- Math skills, including ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure.
- Detail oriented with ability to interpret instructions orally and in writing.
- Time management and ability to meet deadlines.
- Sound judgment in handling confidential and sensitive information.
- Professional, friendly attitude with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Must be able to routinely perform work both indoors in a climate‑controlled shared work area with moderate noise, and outdoors in inclement weather or potentially hazardous conditions.
Physical DemandsThe employee is constantly required to sit, use hands in repetitive motions, talk, hear, stand, walk, climb ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and exert force to move objects up to 25 pounds occasionally. Operational tasks include operating routine office equipment, potentially extended hours, travel off‑site, and reliable attendance. Lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently may be required.
Vision demands include close visual acuity for tasks such as reading, inspecting small parts, and using measurement devices at close distances.
