* Position Summary:
** Performs intermediate-level cleaning and disinfection in patient care areas including isolation rooms, procedure rooms, psychiatric services, and labor & delivery. Supports quality assurance activities and serves as a resource for Technician I staff. Follows established procedures to support infection prevention, patient experience, and a safe environment of care.

*** Six (6) months environmental services or closely related healthcare support experience required.
** Preferred:
*** High School Diploma or equivalent.
* Prior experience with isolation/procedure area cleaning.
* Certified Health Care Environmental Services Technician (CHEST) credential.

* Essential Job Functions:
** In addition to the essential functions of the job listed below, employees must have on-time completion of all required education as assigned per DNV requirements, Bozeman Health policy, and other registry requirements.
* Perform daily and discharge cleaning of patient rooms, restrooms, and general areas following defined sequence, dwell times, and high-touch surface protocols.
* Complete isolation room cleaning and terminal/discharge cleans per transmission-based precautions, including proper donning/doffing of PPE and disinfectant selection.
* Clean and disinfect procedure rooms (e.g., ED treatment, imaging, endoscopy recovery) according to area-specific protocols.
* Provide specialized cleaning in psychiatric services areas using safety-first practices (ligature awareness, secured tools/equipment, patient privacy) and in Labor & Delivery/post-partum areas per maternal-infant care protocols.
* Conduct routine quality checks (e.g., visual inspections, fluorescent marker or comparable methods) and document results; communicate corrective actions.
* Assist with training, mentoring, and spot-coaching of Technician I staff on workflow, safety, and service standards.
* Maintain safe handling and transport of regulated medical waste, soiled/clean linen, and supply restocking for assigned zones.
* Operate and maintain floor-care equipment (auto-scrubber, burnisher) and perform periodic floor care as assigned.
* Prioritize and respond to STAT service calls; coordinate with nursing and ancillary departments to meet room readiness targets.
* Support departmental rounding, audit readiness, and customer service initiatives.
* Accurately record tasks and quality findings in EVS systems; escalate issues to EVS leadership and Infection Prevention as needed.
