Overview
Montana State University invites experienced management and entrepreneurship professionals to the Jake Jabs College of Business & Entrepreneurship faculty as Instructors, delivering high-quality instruction at the undergraduate and graduate levels. We seek dedicated professionals who are passionate about teaching and mentoring students, possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, and can collaborate effectively with faculty and staff. The ideal candidate will contribute to student success and academic excellence while supporting the mission of Montana State University through engaging, real-world management and entrepreneurship education.
Instructional assignments are contingent upon departmental needs and the availability of funding.

Non-tenure-track appointments may be part-time or full-time and vary in duration depending on the specific needs of the department or program. Salary is dependent on the number of courses taught and the duration of the appointment.

- Teach undergraduate and/or graduate management or entrepreneurship courses in in-person and/or online formats, ensuring high-quality, engaging instruction.
- Merge course concepts/theories with real-world applications and experiential learning to enhance student understanding of management or entrepreneurship principles and practices.
- Collaborate and coordinate with fellow Jabs College faculty on curricula and teaching methods.
- Deliver course content aligned with the program’s and College’s curricular goals.
- Stay current with industry trends, professional standards, and advancements in management or entrepreneurship education to maintain course relevance.
- Act collegially, abide by University and College policies for faculty and student responsibilities, and foster a welcoming and supportive learning environment.
- Attend/facilitate class at the listed times, with rare exceptions.
Required
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Human Resources, Entrepreneurship, Social Entrepreneurship, or other relevant field.
Preferred
- Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in business management or entrepreneurship.
- Strong knowledge of current industry trends and practices in areas such as human resources, business communications, leadership, negotiation, sustainable business, nonprofit management, and entrepreneurship.
- A terminal degree in Management (Ph.D. or DBA) in Management or a closely related field.
- Champion the teaching and integration of both theory and practice.
- Be committed to experiential learning, incorporating real-world applications, case studies, and industry partnerships into teaching.
- Be committed to supporting, mentoring, and inspiring students from all backgrounds.
- Be committed to utilizing effective pedagogy that involves students in the learning process.
