Position: Law Enforcement Academy, Non-Tenure Track Faculty - Gallatin College (Applicant Pool)

Gallatin College Law Enforcement Academy Non-Tenure Track Faculty

Gallatin College is seeking a non‑tenure track instructor to teach at the Law Enforcement Academy as a Lead Instructor or co‑instructor. All curriculum has been developed and will be given to instructors at the time of hire.

Responsibilities
  • Understand industry standards, best practices, and college regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with learners of all experience levels.
  • Recognize safety hazards and instruct students in proper use of tools and equipment.
  • Maintain, inventory, and reorder classroom or lab equipment and consumables.
  • Provide or locate emergency medical assistance when needed.
Required Qualifications
  • At least 21 years old.
  • Two years of experience in training, teaching, or a related field.
  • General knowledge of law enforcement theories, public safety, and the criminal justice system.
  • Understanding of adult learning theories and practices.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior teaching experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or associate degree from an accredited college/university.
  • Subject matter expert in instructional topics.
  • Documented experience with a professional law enforcement agency.
  • Ability to pass a background investigation.
  • Proficiency in Spanish.
Additional Requirements

Appointment may be part‑time with varying duration—from a couple of weeks to a semester or academic year—depending on department needs. Salary is $1,300 per credit. FTE is 1‑17 credits per semester. Benefits eligibility depends on FTE; contact Human Resources at 406‑994‑3651 for details.
