Gallatin College Law Enforcement Academy Non-Tenure Track Faculty
Gallatin College is seeking a non‑tenure track instructor to teach at the Law Enforcement Academy as a Lead Instructor or co‑instructor. All curriculum has been developed and will be given to instructors at the time of hire.
Responsibilities- Understand industry standards, best practices, and college regulations.
- Communicate effectively with learners of all experience levels.
- Recognize safety hazards and instruct students in proper use of tools and equipment.
- Maintain, inventory, and reorder classroom or lab equipment and consumables.
- Provide or locate emergency medical assistance when needed.
- At least 21 years old.
- Two years of experience in training, teaching, or a related field.
- General knowledge of law enforcement theories, public safety, and the criminal justice system.
- Understanding of adult learning theories and practices.
- Prior teaching experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or associate degree from an accredited college/university.
- Subject matter expert in instructional topics.
- Documented experience with a professional law enforcement agency.
- Ability to pass a background investigation.
- Proficiency in Spanish.
Appointment may be part‑time with varying duration—from a couple of weeks to a semester or academic year—depending on department needs. Salary is $1,300 per credit. FTE is 1‑17 credits per semester. Benefits eligibility depends on FTE; contact Human Resources at 406‑994‑3651 for details.
