Position Overview
The Electrical & Computer Engineering Department is seeking professionals to serve as Instructors in the following areas:
- Circuit Analysis and Design
- Communications Systems
- Control Systems
- Digital Systems
- Electromagnetics
- Electronics Materials
- Energy and Power Systems
- Engineering Design
- FPGA-based Embedded Systems
- Lasers & Electro-optics
- Microfabrication
- Microprocessor-based Embedded Systems
- VLSI Design
Montana State University seeks qualified individuals to provide non‑tenurable level instruction and/or related functions. Instructors are needed to teach classes depending upon need and available funding.
Applications are accepted on a continual basis and will be maintained in the pool for two years. After two years, candidates will be notified to re‑submit materials for continued consideration.
Appointments are on a part‑time basis and vary in duration, a couple of weeks, a semester, or an academic year, depending on the specific needs of the department/program. Salary is dependent on the number of courses taught and duration.
Duties and Responsibilities- Teach on‑campus and/or online courses.
- Advise, evaluate, and assist students.
- Participate in curriculum and/or course development.
- Contribute positively and professionally to the academic success of students and the mission of Montana State University.
- Relevant degree and experience in key areas of electrical and computer engineering at the undergraduate level.
- Significant, long‑term, and direct professional experience and substantial insight into the theoretical and practical principles of the undergraduate and graduate academic content relevant to the assigned teaching responsibility.
- Currency in area of teaching responsibility.
- Previous Teaching Experience.
- Have effective interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Have strong interest in student success and commitment to quality teaching.
- Possess excellent written and oral communications skills.
- Have the ability to work professionally and effectively with individuals from all backgrounds.
- Have the ability to contribute positively to the academic success of students and the mission of Montana State University.
