Gallatin College is seeking a non‑tenure track instructor to teach at the Law Enforcement Academy as a Lead Instructor or co‑instructor. All curriculum has been developed and will be provided to instructors at the time of hire.

- Law Enforcement Scenarios
- Tactical Medicine
- Crime Scene Investigation / Evidence Processing
- Criminal, Juvenile, and Tribal Law
- Ethics
- Investigations
- Other Law Enforcement Training Requirements
- Identify and secure co‑instructors when needed.
- Understand industry standards, best practices, and college rules.
- Communicate effectively with learners at all levels.
- Recognize safety hazards and instruct proper use of tools and equipment.
- Maintain and inventory classroom or lab equipment; prepare reorder lists.
- Maintain an organized, clean learning environment.
- Provide or locate emergency medical assistance when required.
- Be at least 21 years old.
- At least two years of experience in training, teaching, or a related field.
- General knowledge of law‑enforcement, public safety, and the criminal justice system.
- Understanding of adult‑learning theories and practices.
- Prior teaching experience.
- Bachelor’s or associate degree from an accredited institution.
- Subject‑matter expertise in instructional topics.
- Documented experience with a professional law‑enforcement agency.
- Ability to pass a background investigation.
- Proficiency in Spanish.
- Professional and effective collaboration with diverse individuals.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Commitment to academic success of students and mission of Gallatin College.
- Appreciation for diverse constituencies; adds intellectual diversity to the department.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Willingness to work extended hours when needed.
- Self‑motivated, capable of completing tasks with limited supervision.
• Any position more than 0.5 FTE may be eligible for benefits as outlined by the Montana Two‑Year College Faculty Association, Montana State University, Montana University System, or AFMSU Non‑Tenure‑Track Collective Bargaining Agreements.
