Global Health Non-Tenure Track Faculty (Applicant Pool)

Position OverviewHoused in the Liberal Studies program, the Global Health minor allows students to develop an interdisciplinary understanding of health issues and health care in a global context. The faculty will design, deliver, and assess courses such as LS 104:
Intro to Global Health, and may participate in curriculum development and assessment.
Part‑time, varying duration (from a couple of weeks to an academic year), salary depends on number of courses and duration. Non‑tenure track, contract with a term of Semester Fall or Spring. Eligible for union representation for FTE 0.5 or more. Salary commensurate with experience, education, and qualifications.
Responsibilities- Design and/or deliver Global Health courses, as assigned.
- If teaching online, complete specialized online training and regularly attend online workshops.
- Assist with curriculum and/or course development, when applicable.
- Collaborate with other faculty to ensure consistent standards across courses.
- Participate in faculty meetings and/or workshops when called.
- Participate in program and university assessment of student learning outcomes.
- Hold appropriate office hours/availability for student questions and concerns.
- Master’s or Ph.D. degree in a field related to global health.
- Demonstrated experience teaching interdisciplinary courses.
- Demonstrated knowledge of college student development.
- Terminal degree in a field related to global health.
- Demonstrated commitment to student, faculty, and staff diversity.
- Engage in pedagogy that involves students in the learning process.
- Effectively collaborate with faculty and staff.
- Possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Take initiative, exercise good judgment, and work well independently.
