Job Description

The Project Engineer assists the Project Manager and Superintendent in organizing, controlling, monitoring and recording activities which are part of the construction management of a commercial construction project.

Qualifications and Required Skills

• A four‑year engineering or construction management degree is required.
• OSHA 10 and 30 certifications are desired.
• SWPPP certifications are desired.
• Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with Bluebeam and Procore is desired.
• Experience in Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) is desired.
• Must pass a pre‑employment drug screen and physical.

Essential Job Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

• Layout building components, grid lines, and bounds onsite using a total station.
• Oversee coordination and maintenance of project documentation.
• Conduct field verifications of all building scopes.
• Conduct quality control of elevation and slope using a builder's level.
• Conduct quality control on multiple aspects of concrete, steel, framing, and MEP.
• Assist the safety personnel with implementation and enforcement of safety standards.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

• May assist in creating material takeoffs and procuring materials for the project.
• Understand the project overall schedule and its relationship to PE tasks.
• May assist with coordination of subcontractors and company employees.
• Assist the Superintendent and Project Manager in any other assigned tasks.
• May manage submittals, change orders, and Requests for Information.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

This position is moderately strenuous. Applicants must be able to lift and carry objects, work in all weather conditions, and perform tasks that include climbing ladders or scaffolding, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, and standing for periods of time. Applicants must be able to see clearly and recognize small details, sit in an office environment, use a tablet, keyboard, and mouse, and effectively communicate by phone and text messaging.
