Assistant Teacher
A Little Journey Montessori School is looking for an assistant teacher to join our team! The ideal candidate for this position is someone who is consistent and reliable, loves working with others and young children, adaptable and flexible to changing circumstances and environments. Can take charge of classroom management and work alongside other teachers. This is an amazing opportunity for those interested in a career in Montessori and/or early childhood teaching and education.
We are looking to hire a qualified assistant teacher for this licensed childcare facility.
We are open 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday and are a year-round program. A work schedule would vary within these hours with the possibility of 30 minutes on either end for opening or closing chores. We have an infant, toddler, and preschool classroom within our school. We are currently looking for assistance primarily for our infant and toddler rooms.
There is also an option for full-time or to work up to full-time employment.

- Assist lead teachers with classroom management.
- Change diapers and assist potty training children with learning to use the potty.
- Supervise young children inside and outside.
- Cleaning up after children and light chores throughout the day.
- Assisting children with their needs.
- Communicating with other teachers and parents.
- A passion for working with young children.
- Great at working as a team and with others.
- A friendly nature, patience, and love for children.
- Good organization and communication skills.
- Experience caring for children, especially ages 18 months to 3 years old.
- Montessori experience preferred.
- Hands-on infant, Child, and Adult CPR/First Aid certification is required within 30 days of hire.
- Must pass criminal background check for state licensing requirements.
- Verification of Immunizations (MMR and tDap).
- Training courses for state licensing requirements within 30 and 90 days of hire.
- Pay is DOE starting at $18.00/hour.
