Role OverviewWe are seeking a passionate and reflective English/Language Arts teacher to deliver highly personalized instruction. The ideal candidate will inspire curiosity, foster foundational academic skills, and support students in developing confidence and independence in reading, writing, literature, and communication across middle and high school levels.
The right educator will:- Create engaging lessons that build strong literacy, writing, and critical thinking skills.
- Foster curiosity and creativity through hands‑on and interdisciplinary learning experiences.
- Encourage resilience, reflection, and a love of learning in every student.
- Thrive in flexible environments and partner closely with families to support student growth.
- Design and deliver at-home, virtual, and in-person one-on‑one instruction across core English/Language Arts curriculum for grades 6‑12 using a set curriculum and a learning management system.
- Implement developmentally appropriate, interdisciplinary learning experiences.
- Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies based on each student’s needs and learning style.
- Use formative and summative assessments to track progress and personalize learning.
- Collaborate with families to co-design individualized learning plans and ensure strong school‑home connections.
- Foster a supportive and structured environment that nurtures student confidence and academic achievement.
- Bachelor’s degree in English Education, English, or related field (master’s preferred).
- Must hold valid Florida Teacher Certification in English 6‑12 or Middle Grades English 5‑9, OR a Temporary Florida Teaching Certificate with an agreement to complete requirements for full Florida Educator Certification in one of those areas within three years of employment start date.
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching or tutoring experience in middle and high school grades preferred.
- Strong background in English/Language Arts instruction.
- Experience with interdisciplinary and project‑based teaching approaches.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Driven, reflective learner with a growth mindset.
- Must have empathy for students and enthusiasm for developing personalized, one‑to‑one learning relationships.
