The City of Box Elder is seeking a motivated and dedicated individual for the position of Planning & Zoning Director. This position is responsible for supervising and coordinating the planning, zoning, land use and comprehensive planning for the City, as well as oversight of the planning and zoning staff which includes building inspection, code enforcement, plan development, plan review, GIS, and administrative functions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field.

Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the diverse objectives and functions of the subunits in the division/department in order to direct and coordinate work within the division/department, usually interpreted to require three to five years of related experience.

Possession of a valid drivers license issued by the State of South Dakota or the type of vehicle or equipment operated.

Certification of AICP preferred or ability to obtain within three years of hire date.
