The selected candidate will be placed in the classification in which they meet minimum qualifications.
What You Will Do- You will serve the public and work to make the roads in Ohio safer.
- You will attend training to obtain a CDL license if not already a licensed CDL holder.
- You will perform highway maintenance activities, including flagging, pothole patching, repairing guardrails, litter pickup, and mowing.
- You will perform snow & ice operations.

Qualifications Highway Maintenance Worker 1Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction & in reading, writing & speaking common English vocabulary. Must obtain a Class B Commercial Driver's License with tanker endorsement without air‑brake restriction.
Highway Technician 1Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction & decimals, percentages & fractions; ability to read, write & speak common English vocabulary; 3 mos. training or 3 mos. experience in operation of basic equipment. Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License with tanker endorsement without air‑brake restriction.
Supplemental InformationThis position is overtime eligible based on FLSA Standards.
All bargaining unit new hires must serve a one‑year probationary period.
Position will be filled pursuant to the provision of the OCSEA/AFSCME Contract.
The final candidate selected for this position will be required to undergo a criminal background check. An individual assessment of an applicant's prior criminal convictions will be made before excluding an applicant from consideration.
