Thompson’s continuum of care encompasses three domains: prevention services, foster care, and mental health, operating across the Carolinas, Florida, Tennessee and recently Kentucky. What you will do as Program Director, Child ServicesLead a team of Youth Care Specialists, providing trauma‑informed services for children and families.
- Use a trauma‑informed approach in daily work, applying CARE principles (Developmentally Focused, Family‑Involved, Relationship‑Based, Competence‑Centered, Trauma‑Informed, Ecologically Oriented).
- Coach and give feedback to ensure professional development of direct reports.
- Set programmatic objectives, define roles, and prioritize tasks.
- Communicate proactively in all directions to meet program needs.
- Recruit, interview, and select top‑tier talent for the team.
- Conduct thorough performance assessments of staff.
- Address performance issues and replace staff who do not meet objectives.
- Create an open, trusting environment that values teamwork.
- Model professionalism, positivity, and teamwork for the organization.
- Respond to client/parent/guardian concerns.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Starting Pay Range: $55k‑$65k annually

- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Three years of high‑performing individual contributor experience in a related field with leadership exposure through project management, coordination, training or actual leadership roles.
- Display coachability for future growth.
- Valid driver’s license and meet credentialing, licensing, and privileging standards for the program.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and excellent written & oral communication skills.
