Overview
Inwood Management is looking for a Journeyman Electrician, who is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in accordance with local and national electrical codes. This role emphasizes strict compliance with safety standards, emergency preparedness, and physical requirements to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
Responsibilities- Installs, maintains, and repairs electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures in residential, commercial, and industrial settings
- Reads and interprets blueprints, technical diagrams, and electrical schematics
- Inspects electrical components to identify hazards, defects, and necessary adjustments
- Tests electrical systems and continuity of circuits using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes
- Ensures compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, NEC, and company safety policies at all times
- Participates in emergency response procedures, including electrical shutdowns and troubleshooting during critical incidents
- Troubleshoots electrical issues and provides effective solutions
- Collaborates with other trades and contractors on projects
- Maintains accurate records of work performed and materials used
- Adheres to all federal, state, and local electrical codes and regulations
- Follows company safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures, PPE usage, and hazard communication
- Conducts job hazard analysis and reports unsafe conditions immediately
- Participates in regular safety training and emergency drills
- Responds promptly to electrical emergencies, including outages, equipment failures, and fire hazards
- Assists in restoring power and ensuring operational continuity during critical situations
- Supports facility evacuation or shutdown procedures when required
- Valid Journeyman Electrician license or certification
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an approved apprenticeship program
- 2‑4 years of experience in electrical work
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, tools, and safety practices
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
Salary to be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience of the applicant, as well as the internal equity and alignment with the team.
