We are looking for a dynamic Chemical Account Manager to join our team and help drive business growth within an assigned geographic territory.

This role involves selling chemicals, ingredients, and services while building and maintaining relationships with commercial, industrial, and technical customers. Reporting to the District Manager, the Chemical Account Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, demonstrating the competitive value of our products and services. As the face of our company, this individual will be instrumental in improving customer satisfaction and driving sales growth.

Primary

Responsibilities & Duties
  • Call on representatives, professional and technical personnel at commercial, industrial, and other establishments and attempt to convince prospective customers of the desirability and practicality of products or services offered.
  • Review market analyses to determine customer needs, volume potential, price schedules, and discount rates and implement sales campaigns to meet company goals.
  • Schedule appointments to explain products and services available.
  • Inform regular customers of new products or services, market trends, and price changes.
  • Call on prospective customers to solicit new business.
  • Explain merits of programs to persuade customers to purchase products.
  • Set up merchandise and sales promotion displays or issue sales promotion materials to customers.
  • Attempt to resolve problems encountered with the customer's process.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to provide needed products to customers in a timely manner.
  • Effectively communicate customer needs and changes internally to purchasing, customer service and management, including forecast changes, credit concerns, competitive data, etc.
  • Complete customer profiles for all new accounts and update existing accounts as needed.
  • Assist District Manager in growing operating profit.
  • Handle credit issues as they arise.
  • Submit expense reports weekly.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Chemistry, Marketing or other related science or field.
  • 3-5 years B2B sales experience and/or training preferred.
  • CRM experience preferred.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Driver’s License Required.

  • Proficiency in reading, analyzing, and interpreting business documents, technical procedures, and regulations.
  • Strong writing skills for reports and business correspondence.
  • Effective communication skills for presenting information and responding to queries from managers and customers.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.
  • Problem-solving skills to manage diverse and non-standard situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively use Office 365 applications.

Physical Capabilities & Requirements
  • Occasional standing, walking, and sitting.
  • Ability to lift/move up to 10 pounds regularly, 25 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Work Environment
  • Noise level is moderate to loud.
  • Will frequently work in outdoor weather conditions.
