OverallJob Summary
This position manages all operational and team member aspects of a traveling 7‑person district Field Activity Support Team (FAST). Duties include executing planograms and physical inventories, supporting merchandise and fixture assembly, and maintaining signage.
Primary responsibilities:
build and lead the FAST team, execute company merchandising and inventory standards, interact with customers and team members, and provide legendary customer service. The role also promotes a safe and productive work environment for all Team Members, customers, and vendors, and trains Team Members on policies and procedures.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- Work scheduled shifts and have the ability to work varied hours, days, and nights as dictated by business needs.
- Uphold and promote a safe and productive work environment by following and enforcing policies and procedures.
- Build the district FAST team—hiring, staffing decisions, retention, training & development, succession planning, performance reviews and counseling.
- Create/manage the schedule and payroll management, including travel scheduling and task outlining.
- Lead execution of Tractor Supply Company standards (merchandising and inventory processes, fixture assembly, signage maintenance, daily task delegation).
- Communicate proactively and regularly with the Regional FAST Manager on project status, obstacles, and solutions.
- Provide recommendations to and partner with the Regional FAST Manager on process changes and enhancements.
- Support the District Manager in achieving overall merchandising goals for the district.
- Maintain regular communication with the District Manager and Store Managers regarding your team’s planned activities and progress.

- Combine the following FAST Team Member duties regularly:
- Complete planograms and resets accurately and in a timely manner
- Maintain visual merchandising standards
- Perform store‑specific measurements
- Complete store layout initiatives
- Perform accurate counts for store inventories, including cycle counts
- Complete Tractor Way top‑cap process
- Hang store signage
- Assemble merchandise, fixtures and PDQs
- Perform detailed recovery and review planogram integrity
- Provide peak coverage as needed (e.g., DAT)
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Experience:
5+ years in retail and/or merchandising; 2+ years of retail or merchandising leadership. - Skills:
Profit/loss, scheduling, shrink control, payroll management, staffing, hiring, supervising, and counseling. - Preferred industry knowledge: farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Education:
High School diploma or equivalent;
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field preferred. - Must be able to read, write, and count accurately.
- Ability to perform FAST Team Member duties effectively.
- Effective communication with team members and customers.
- Strong interpersonal skills and conflict resolution.
- Forklift certification (preferred).
- Indoor work with moderate noise.
- Shift length generally 4–8+ hours.
- Travel between store locations in personal vehicle; long travel periods.
- Maintain safe and productive environment—adherence to safety training and guidelines.
- Indoor floors and outdoor lots: concrete, asphalt; adequate lighting and temperature.
- Non‑sedentary.
- Move quickly and safely throughout store and outdoor areas.
- Driving a vehicle.
- Move and transfer merchandise up to 50 lb; push/pull up to 2,000 lb with equipment.
- Lifting, reaching overhead, standing, kneeling, crouching, bending, stooping, climbing ladders.
- Operate store equipment: dolly, handtruck, forklift, baler, computer, cash register.
