Overview
The Bowling Green Veterans Center is a skilled nursing facility that cares for the Commonwealth of Kentucky’s Veterans. Our mission is to Serve Kentucky’s Veterans by fostering independence, preserving dignity and providing compassionate care.
We are currently seeking a motivated Registered Nurse to work in our nursing department as a Nurse Supervisor (Unit Manager). This position will serve in the roll of Unit Manager and supervise professional and ancillary employees in the administration of efficient nursing care.
Responsibilities- Supervises all nursing service employees on the assigned unit and/or shift at the Veterans Center.
- Oversees all nursing services for the assigned shift and/or unit, ensuring safe, effective, and person centered care.
- Ensures compliance with facility policies and procedures, as well as applicable federal, state, and Veterans Affairs regulations and guidelines.
- Determines the level and type of nursing care required to meet individual resident care needs.
Has an approved Locality Premium of $10.62 per hour, based on the organizational structure and work county.
- Shift premiums:
Second and Third shift – 15% - Weekend – 25%
- Holidays – 25%

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR
SKILLS:
Must have three years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
Substitute EDUCATION for

A bachelor’s degree in nursing will substitute for one year of the required experience.

AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.: Must be licensed in Kentucky as a registered nurse or possess a valid work permit issued by the Kentucky Board of Nursing. Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification. Employing agency is responsible for ensuring employee possesses and maintains required licensure(s), certification(s) or other credentials.
Working ConditionsWork is typically performed in a hospital or institutional setting. May be exposed to patients with infectious diseases or hazards common to a hospital or institutional setting, which requires following safety procedures.
Probationary PeriodThis job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
