MFG Refrig​/Power TECH LEAD - Maintenance - Shift

Overview

Responsible for leading the department when the Supervisor is unavailable. Ensure the department runs efficiently, meeting department goals and objectives. Perform all jobs safely, efficiently and accurately to maintain and improve the performance of the entire plant in Safety, Quality, Reliability (SQR) and our Customer 1st strategy. Provide leadership that embodies our 7 Kroger Manufacturing High Performance Work System Principles. Role model and demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety of others.

• Lead the department in the Supervisor's absence and ensure operations meet goals and objectives.
• Model and uphold Kroger's core values and the 7 High Performance Work System Principles.
• Demonstrate commitment to Safety, Quality, Reliability (SQR) and Customer 1st strategy.
• Communicate effectively within the department and with shifts and management; participate in issue resolution and relay information back to the team.
• Support development and compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure associates' adherence.
• Complete down- and safety tasks as needed; perform safety observations as assigned.
• Maintain regular attendance and overtime as needed.
• Hold employees accountable to Kroger Values and Food Safety/Quality Principles.
• Follow programs to produce safe, quality foods meeting regulatory and company requirements.
• Support SQF 2000 System development and ongoing improvement.
• Work around ingredients and/or finished products containing food allergens as required.
• Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

• High School Diploma or GED
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Critical thinking and problem solving skills
• Effective verbal communication
• Forklift certified
• Basic math skills

• Previous food manufacturing experience; ability to receive assignments from shift supervisor and direct department tasks accordingly
• Coordinate on-the-job training and cross-training with co-workers and newly hired associates
• Address and resolve issues through the Quality Improvement Process and the Work Order Request System
• Assist Shift Supervisor in developing and complying with SOPs and assuring compliance by associates
• Actively participate in team meetings and represent shift issues and concerns to management; communicate information from management back to the team
• Facilitate communication within the department, across shifts and departments, and with the shift supervisor
• Complete if down, do lists as necessary
• Complete safety observations as assigned
• Maintain regular attendance and working overtime, as needed
• Hold all employees accountable to act in accordance with Kroger Values and Kroger Manufacturing Food Safety and Quality Principles
• Follow established programs, policies and practices to produce safe quality foods
• Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the SQF 2000 Systems
• Must be able to work around ingredients and/or finished products known to contain food allergens
• Must be able to perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
