Joining us as a Team Leader, you’ll provide leadership to a customer-centric team of associates and accelerate seasonal tax business by managing a single H&R Block tax office. You’ll serve as the front-line manager to provide leadership and development of tax office associates, delivering an outstanding client experience, and achieving all office-related growth objectives. You’ll also be a knowledgeable resource on tax topics and products for associates.
A typical day involves inspiring people to make confident, informed decisions about their lives, careers, and money, and building client relationships that strengthen over time.
Responsibilities- Lead a customer-centric team of associates and manage a single H&R Block tax office to accelerate seasonal tax business.
- Provide leadership and development for tax office associates, delivering an outstanding client experience and achieving office growth objectives.
- Assist in advancing knowledge and skills related to tax topics and products for associates.
- Partner with District General Manager to create and implement office-level growth plans, including developing local partnerships and managing office community involvement.
- Recruit and interview candidates for tax office associate positions.
- Serve as the point of contact for onsite escalated client service concerns; ensure clients are scheduled properly and conflicts resolved.
- Lead daily activities to ensure all tax office work is completed on time with attention to quality standards, priorities, and goals.
- Train and coach associates to meet Service Standards and recognize outstanding contributions; lead daily team meetings and communicate essential information.
- Create associate work schedules, ensure accurate timekeeping and overtime management.
- Prepare tax returns as required; conduct timely performance reviews and address performance concerns with the Associate Relations Center.
- Prior experience in a customer service, shift leader, or similar role; experience supervising or managing people.
- 2+ years as a Tax Professional (as applicable).
- Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course (if preparing tax returns).
- Annual continuing education and ability to meet IRS and state requirements.
- Computer proficiency with MS Office; ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Possess a customer-centric mindset, be flexible with work schedule and assignments based on business needs.
- High school diploma or equivalent or higher.
