Overview
This position supervises and participates in the maintenance and repair of building, grounds and equipment for the facility. Directs and coordinates assigned maintenance personnel and is responsible for the usage of the company’s CMMS/EAM preventative maintenance process. This role is vital in ensuring the facility and equipment are maintained in a safe, operable condition. Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
Responsibilities- Supervise and direct daily maintenance, repair and janitorial activities for the facility. Prepare schedules, set deadlines and assign responsibilities or functional activities. Monitor daily use of the CMMS/EAM preventative maintenance process.
- Determine maintenance and repair priorities.
- Select appropriate service, equipment and personnel.
- Complete maintenance and repair activities.
- Ensure the accuracy, condition and timely completion of work.
- Collaborate with manager to plan department activities and coordinate with other departments to ensure efficiency. Monitor and report the status of work in progress. Identify and resolve issues timely, escalating to manager for resolution as needed.
- Train and develop assigned personnel in their assignments. Facilitate professional development; promote craft skills training and guidelines.
- Continuously drive for improvement. Identify opportunities for improvement and create and maintain an environment promoting employee engagement, teamwork and results.
- Promote a Safe Work Environment in accordance with company policy, OSHA regulations, and local, state and federal laws. May direct the enforcement of safety or other facility directives. Maintain and monitor fire protection systems.
- Associate degree or certification in a Maintenance, Mechanical, Electrical or related field, or equivalent years of related technical maintenance work experience
- Thorough understanding of general facility and equipment maintenance, including electrical, welding, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, etc.
- Background in automated inventory control management systems is a plus
- Strong safety focus
- Strong communication and leadership skills; ability to teach and train team members
- Strong computer and Microsoft Office skills; experience with CMMS / EAM systems
- 2+ years of facilities and/or industrial equipment maintenance experience
- Experience in a warehouse and/or manufacturing environment is preferred
- Prior team lead or supervisory experience is a plus
