Performance Responsibilities- Establishes guidelines for proper student conduct and maintains student discipline.
- Maintains an effective learning environment in the school.
- Provides proper supervision of pupils at all times.
- Plans, organizes and directs implementation of specific co‑curricular and extracurricular school activities, as assigned.
- Establishes and maintains favorable relationships with local community groups and individuals to foster understanding and solicit support for overall school objectives and programs.
- Discusses and resolves individual student instructional problems.
- Prepares and supervises various reports, records and/or lists, as requested.
- Participates in administrative meetings as required and/or appropriate and participates and/or conducts staff meetings, as appropriate to keep members informed of changes, programs and implementation of professional development.
- Reports any unusual occurrence or event to the principal and/or proper authorities immediately (bomb threat, thefts, child abuse, harassment, etc.)
- Assist in implementing the school improvement plan as directed by the principal.
- Enforce the school’s discipline plan.
- Administer student discipline.
- Participate in professional development activities as directed by the principal.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to ensure the safety of students and staff.
- Adhere to the professional Codes of Ethics adopted by the Kentucky Education Professional Standards Board.
- Administer health services to students as necessary including, but not limited to, the administration of medication; the operation, maintenance, or health care through the use of medical equipment; or the administration of clinical procedures.
- Demonstrate positive interpersonal relations by interacting effectively with and demonstrating respect for the views, rights and contributions of parents, teachers and other school personnel.
- Maintain appropriate professional appearance.
- Act as a consistent positive public relations agent for school and district programs and activities.
- Maintain confidentiality of information regarding individual students and their families.
- Implement and adhere to all rules and regulations, policies, administrative guidelines, and directives as adopted by the Board of Education, Principal, Administrative Staff, Superintendent and School Based Decision Making Council.
- Maintain acceptable personal attendance without repeated unexcused absences, tardiness, absences without notification, or abuse of sick leave.
- Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the Principal or Superintendent.
