Job SummaryProvide general clerical and customer service duties in support of SKYCTC’s Learning Commons. This position is on the Main Campus, located at 1845 Loop Drive, Bowling Green, KY 42101. The job pays $14.00 an hour with a maximum of 20 hours per week. Anticipated employment is August 2025 - May 2026, subject to employment expectations such as dependability, punctuality, and confidentiality.
Job Duties- Clerical and receptionist duties with customer service role answering questions in person and on the phone
- Assist with maintaining the Learning Commons space, including desk coverage, stocking office supplies, and periodic cleaning of work stations
- Refer to tutors and librarians as needed
- Assist with basic library collection management, including checking books in and out, shelving books, inventory assistance, and recording statistics
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Other duties as assigned
- Submits a completed, current year FAFSA to SKYCTC
- Is a U.S. citizen or an eligible non-citizen
- Is credential-seeking in a SKYCTC program of study
- Maintains a GPA of 2.0 or higher and makes Satisfactory Academic Progress
- Maintains enrollment in 6 or more program-applicable credit hours
- Has “unmet need” in the financial aid budget to allow for a federal work‑study award
- Consents to state and national pre‑employment background checks, per Kentucky State Law
- Has completed 1 semester at SKYCTC
- Has completed CIT 105, or possessed equivalent technology skills (e.g., Microsoft Office, Blackboard, other office technologies)
- Ability to work with the public in a professional manner
- Dependable, punctual, and courteous
- Organized and attentive to detail
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
